School Values and Philosophy

VALUES
Skene Street Specialist School operates with 4 core values that we aim to develop in our students and that are underpinning in all we do.
Our school implements the following values:
BE A LEARNER         BE SAFE          BE RESPONSIBLE          BE RESPECTFUL
We also have the expectation that all students are capable of learning and reaching their maximum potential. This is fostered through the implementation of individual goals, with the intended purpose of students experiencing success.

VISION
Skene Street Specialist School’s vision is to continue to deliver a high quality, individualised program to allow students to reach their personal best and embrace our school motto “See me as I am”.

MISSION
Skene Street Specialist School’s mission is to “provide students with the best possible foundation in life through a well-rounded, experience-based education”.

OBJECTIVE
Skene Street Specialist School’s objective is to ensure all students leave our school with practical, social and academic skills to allow them to function as independently as possible and lead productive and happy lives as members of their community.

Junior School Council:
Each year our students elect members from each class to represent them on our Junior School Council. These students are expected to uphold our values in their classes and across the school. They also complete fundraising activities, represent our school at community events and provide a voice for all students if they have issues or ideas.
